GWN-GISCAD (GIS-SHPCAD & GWN-TOPO) -- Simple stand alone DWG based mapping and GIS application.  This system has evolved from our Intergraph and Bentley MicroStation GIS modules.  GWN has now selected IntelliCAD as its GIS application platform because it offers power at a cost that is affordable by all clients anywhere in the world.

It has an open architecture that allows users to work easily between CAD and GIS since it supports the DWG and SHP format.  All files can be exported and imported to ESRI compatible shape file formats.

GWN-GISCAD comprises of two modules GWN-SHPCAD and GWN-TOPO.  GWN-SHPCAD allows users to import and query existing shape files including the database attribute information.  It also allows users to create shape files from AutoCAD drawings.  In addition it has a powerful label correlation feature that allows users to tag text labels to shape entities. 

GWN-TOPO is a data cleaning and topology building application that allows users to create closed polygons from digitized CAD drawings.  It allows users to easily flag and correct entities being cleaned.  The base technology is built from our core experience in GIS since 1986.  Consequently GWN-GISCAD is a powerful tool for users that need to implement GIS, and for those who are in production, and data conversion.

GWN-GISCAD is a GIS/AM/FM based application developed for municipal solutions and easy integration with LIS, CAMA, Telecom and power facilities management system. This application is currently being tested in S.E. Asia and it's due for release in mid 2004.

Uses powerful CAD based DWG file format

Many GIS application developers have unsuccessfully tried to use their GIS application for data capture and data entry.  The nature of the GIS data structure makes it difficult for this purpose.  CAD drawing data format and CAD applications, on the other hand, are designed for digitizing.

Combines popular GIS based SHP file format with DWG flexibility

The SHP file format has gained world-wide popularity as a GIS vector-attribute format and can be considered as the de-facto standard for GIS vector data exchange like DXF is in the CAD world.  GWN-SHPCAD combines CAD flexibility with the SHP GIS capability for data creation and file exchange.

Supports geo-referenced raster images for heads-up digitizing

GWN-SHPCAD supports geo-referenced raster images with world files like TIF based rasters with TFW files.  This allows users to easily create thematic layers or coverages from air photos, satellite images and drawings.

Powerful snap tools for digitizing

Because SHPCAD is designed on top of a CAD based graphics engine all the AutoCAD like drawing tools are available to the user.  The snap command allows users to edit vector entities much more efficiently.

Label correlation

One of the more difficult tasks in GIS is the linking of text IDs or identifiers like parcel numbers to entities.  The label correlation tool allows users to readily link text entities on the drawing to polygons, like PIN (parcel identification numbers) to lot boundaries.

Enterprise based topology on PC desktop

GWN developed the first MicroStation based GIS for UNIX and Microsoft Windows.  The technology for this enterprise application has been ported to the windows desktop on PCs.  Now users can take advantage of the core technology for their projects.

Core technology tested on large international projects

This technology has been tested on large international projects in both Asia and Europe.  From local governments to production houses.  It has been well tested over the last 15 years.

Designed for large data cleaning requirements

GWN-TOPO was designed for clients that required a stable, flexible, robust cleaning tool that could handle large data sets.  There are many tools available that will work with small data sets, but cannot function efficiently with larger data files.

Flagging utility for efficient editing

GWN-TOPO has a flexible flagging utility that allow users to set their own features.  This allows for efficient editing and flagging of problem areas.
